Details:
The Black Math Experiment is a band from Houston, TX of questionable taxonomy founded by Bill Curtner. Since their inception in 2004, they have become one of the state's leading live acts, often compared to DEVO and The Pixies. The band consists of Curtner on guitars, Captain Mongo Nelson on bass, Brian Coleman on drums, and Christi Lain and her twin brother Jef With One F on vocals.

The band rose to notoriety with its 2005 release Fake Words and Signs From Space, which featured the shout-along sarcas-hymn You Cannot Kill David Arquette". Its subject met the song with great amusement, and he sent the band a box of gourmet cupcakes in thanks. The band spent the following year gigging around Texas, opening for luminaries like Peelander-Z and Gene Loves Jezebel, and working on their second album.

Last Transmission from the Blue Room was "a natural progression" according to David Cobb of Houston Calling, who reviewed the album just prior to its release in November of 2006, amid a flurry of print and radio appearances. The album's flagship single, "Ology", was recently entered into the kindergarten curriculum of Hsinchu, Taiwan. Sadly, the album marked the end of keyboard player Chris Soliz's tenure with the band. He left the group as a full-time member just after the album's completion to pursue other projects, remaining friends and an occasional collaborator. The band continues to promote their latest album.
