blumen are an effervescent degenerative and fusion rock band

theyâve just concluded their self-titled self-released space-launching debut album - blumen

despite approaches and proposals from some record labels, the band chose to produce and launch the album independently as an authorâs release, thus reproducing a unique and genuine sound and gaining control of their work

gathering some old ideas and songs that converged during their resurrection in 2005, the album is, on one hand, a starting point to reveal themselves and, on the other hand, the endpoint of a period of search-and-discovery of what they want to do: fresh, effervescent and fat-free!

this prolific period though will, most certainly, derive in another album still in 2007

coming from a small town in deep portugal, the band members met and started to play together really young. theyâve been in a an array of projects covering from dance music to metal through pop and progressive rock. they eventually got back together just for the fun in an intermittent basis, while doing other things. in 2005, they started working more consistently and have since then been playing frequently and recording new ideas

âmeanwhile we grew_ sometimes to opposite sides_ but that's the kind of thing that can really work out good for a band_ we're mixin' it all up and now it's going out of control_ we call it degenerative and fusion rock_
so now we're back and we're almost sure this is what we want to do_
ok| we've been around| it's true_ done some gigs| recorded some stuff| had different names| different songs| different hairdos| different guitar and bass players| different favourite nba teams| but the blumen offspring is young_ well| younger! for we started on a weekend-just-for-fun-and-drinks basis_ and we're just getting started_â
