My Biography
Brendon Hunt was born (1972) in Terrell, Texas, the home of Jamie Fox, but grew up in Palestine, Texas. His music grew and developed in the church. He started playing the drums at the age of two. Brendon had played for a vast number of groups and choirs in his early childhood. At the age of six, Brendon started playing the piano. He would occasionally make up songs or play songs that he heard on the radio and TV, including songs from movies, shows, and cartoons as well as some improvised forms of classical music. However, in spite of his composing, he was still well known as the notorious young drummer. When Brendon was in the fifth grade, all of the classes came together to hear Brendon play the drums on show and tell day. It was the first time in the history of West Wood Elementary that they allowed a student to entertain the whole school district. When Brendon finished playing, all the kids screamed so loudly that Brendon wanted to cover his ears. Brendon played so well, that he was often accused of having a tape recorder behind his drum set. It was not until the age of twelve that took the piano more seriously. Even though Brendon had a hard time reaching the foot petals, he still decided to play the B 3 Hammond organ in church.
In his junior and senior high school years, Brendon played the drums, quads, snare, and trap set in the marching band as well as in the jazz and Dixieland band. Brendon also participated in several drum competitions. In the ninth grade, he won the audition for the all district band and became the second chair drummer. In the tenth grade, Brendon auditioned for the all district band again and became the first chair drummer. Brendon would occasionally get first place in the district competition held at Stephen F. Austin State University. While in the twelfth grade, Brendon entered the state competition at University of Texas (in Austin, Texas) and won second place. Brendon also achieved several appreciation music awards in the church.
After graduating (1991) from West Wood High School, Brendon formed a group called âHigh Priority.â They entered a talent show at Prairie View College and won second place. The group had a major impact on the audience. It was then that Brendon truly found himself. He knew that he wanted to have a career in music. Upon relocating to Austin, Texas in 1996, Brendon enrolled in Austin Community College and received an Associates degree of Applied Science in Commercial Music Management in 2001, with a 3.9 grade point average. Brendon was also elected and honored as âWhoâs Who in Americaâs Junior Collegesâ. Later on in his life, he recently joined a group called the Messengers Of Jesus Christ and The Remnant Of Levites as a pianist, songwriter and sound engineer.
Brendon is planning a career in the Christian music business. He wants to own a studio, producing his own songs as well as songs for other Christian artists and groups. He hopes that someday soon he will use his music to make a difference, spreading the love of Christ in his home community or perhaps even the world. Brendon would love to travel all over the world spreading the gospel of Christ and leaving a legacy behind each time he goes from one country to another.
