This album combining two of Texas Honkytonk Kings features the kind of music that you would hear at a typical Texas Dance Hall.
15 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Traditional Country, COUNTRY: Western Swing
Details:
Authentic Texas Country Music has always had a special emphasis on the steel guitar and fiddle combined with the soul-full strains of voices singing about lost loves and the ever present bottle that is sometimes the only companion that is constant. Heart of Texas Records has just released âTexas On A Saturday Nightâ as the perfect blend of sorrow and happiness, lost love and new found romance and of course the ever present liquid that helps to relieve the pain or toast new love.
Johnny Bush and Justin Trevino compliment each other on the fifteen duets on âTexas On A Saturday Nightâ like they have been singing them together for years. As a matter of fact, Bush and Trevino have pleased dance halls all over the Lone Star State with these great classics including â(Wine Friend of Mine) Stand By Meâ âJim, Jack and Roseâ âShell of A Manâ âThatâs What Itâs Like To Be Lonesomeâ âPour The Wineâ âSwinging Doorsâ âWrong Side of the Worldâ âI Threw Away The Roseâ âMr. Record Manâ and âIf She Could See Me Now.â
âI wanted to choose songs that exemplified what someone would hear when they walked into a typical Texas dance hall,â Justin Trevino said. âOf course, it was easy because so many of Johnâs songs have become Texas Dance Hall Classics. I wanted to include several of his great songs while highlighting some that we have performed throughout the years but never recorded.â
Trevino met Bush nearly twenty years ago for the fist time. He studied Bushâs music and became his bass player and front man for five years. During that time, Bush and Trevino would also sing several duets during the show. They talked on several occasions about doing a project, but due to contractual agreements were not able to accomplish that task until âTexas On A Saturday Night.â
Bush, who is one of the greatest Texas Honkytonkers, provides some of his best vocals in the past twenty years. Trevino worked to bring the 1960âs Johnny Bush sound into his studio backed with some of Texas best musicians including Bobby Flores, Dicky Overbey, Ralph Mooney, Johnny Cox, Jim Loessberg and Floyd Domino.
Trevino actually contributed a special song for the project, âTonight, Iâll Break The Bottle Out.â He actually composed the song as a teenager. Originally, Trevino wrote it with Bush in mind but never approached him about it. While recording this project, Trevino remembered the song and sang it for Bush. Bush was so impressed with the composition and insisted on putting it on âTexas On A Saturday Night.â
âWe hear a lot about âTexas Countryâ today,â Heart of Texas Records President Tracy Pitcox said. âWhile hearing this project being put together, I realized that this was the real âTexas Countryâ music. âTexas On A Saturday Nightâ pairs two great Texas artists blending on these great classics. The project is destined to be a classic itself.
âTexas On A Saturday Nightâ is available at music outlets that carry Traditional Country Music or directly online at www.heartoftexascountry.com.
