People have referred to this, the eleventh Bossa Nova Beatniksâ release, as a âgreatest hitsâ collection. However, when we found ourselves leaving songs like Jack Jack, Ack Ack, 20th Century LTD, Heart to Beat and others off the CD, we realized that it was more of a âbest of the recordingsâ collection.

Allow us to present; recordings that have taken us places.

A song that turned an entire high school class on its ear and also inspired the theme for a float in the local Homecoming Parade, âRed Red Johnnyâ has for many people become a song that has been a part of the soundtrack of particular times in their lives. âZantee Misfitsâ was used by United Airlines in their eclectic mix for in flight radio on transatlantic flights. âThe American Dreamâ is our first Bossa beat song and was premiered on the airwaves by Rock ânâ Roll Hall of Fame DJ Megless Griffin on Sirius Satellite Radio. âSun Go Down Dubâ went up several Dub charts. âNew York Townâ was played a few times on Vin Scelsaâs Idiotsâ Delight. People would sing it at us. A lot of people tell us that âFingers in the Cakeâ is their favorite song. The Sundance Rabbi approached us to do a film of âNo Better Thing.â âBehave Yourselfâ is the song that hooked Bleecker Bob and opened doors to many fantastic places like a European distribution deal and a Beatle connection. âAnyroadâ was our stage show closer for a long time and we felt the recording captures the spontaneity of a live performance. âAlways Be With Meâ was on a demo tape that led to an offer to open a show for Stevie Ray Vaughn at Toadâs Place in New Haven. âCool Babies (Justinâs Samba)â popped up on Sirius DisOrder 24 for close to two years. âDeanne (Where did you go?)â is a song inspired by a real person who heard us play the song shortly before she passed. âLighten Upâ gets used to open and close radio shows, years after the release of the Danger Bongo Crossing CD. Bobby Troup, who wrote âRoute 66,â wrote to say he liked our recording. âFear of Loveâ inspired the observation that âthe group creates clever, rhythmically infectious music that defies ready categorizationâ. Our most pirated recording has got to be âPapa La Ska,â which has topped many MP3 charts. Arrggh.
