Carpel Square, a band of six members; Ellen Odlöw, Hannes Högberg, Hampus Odlöw, Mattias Agerberg, Alexander Asplén and David Odlöw, is a new thinking rock band with influences both far and wide. The music has been described as melancholic rock with mystical influences.

Carpel Square was started in 2003 as Lex Maria. After a recording session in October 2005 with producer Fredrik Larnemo at Recordia Studios in Varberg, Sweden, the group decided to take a new direction musically, a process that started with taking in Alexander Asplén on keyboards, continued by changing the band name and finally solidified by the replacement of bass player Sverker Rasmuson this summer.

At gigs like The Rookie festival in Hultsfred and Totalfestival in Ljusdal the band swayed the audience and gathered creative steam for their next trip into a studio.

The band chose to record their next effort with the assistance of Norwegian producer Roger Langvik. The EP "This is a movie" which contains five songs that span the band's musical range is now available through Langviks Label EMK and CDbaby.
