Marc was born and raised in the farmlands of Ohio where he grew up listening to bluegrass, country, and rock music. He considers his earliest influences to be the Everly Brothers, Don Williams, the Highway Men, Jim and Jesse, Tom Petty, and the Eagles. Before he turned thirteen Marc learned some guitar, banjo, and saxophone before finally focusing on drums which he played in several jazz and rock bands during his high school years. At the age of nineteen he got a job as a board operator and music directors assisstant at a major market country music radio station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While there he made many music contacts including Reb Beach from the rock band Winger and started recording and writing with him.
Moving to Nashville in 1995 Marc began writing with the legendary songwriter John Schweers who has had hit songs spanning four decades. Marc credits John with teaching him many invaluable lessons in the craft of songwriting. In 1998 Marc had his first hit song on Atlantic recording artist Matt King. The song 'A WOMANS TEARS' also landed Matt his first record deal. Marcs next hit ' I'M NOT BREAKIN' was co-written with John Foster for Curb recording artist Steve Holy.
After being a staff writer for BMG, Marc started his own publishing company in the early part of 2004 and in October released his first solo record, 'WHERE'S CALIFORNIA' on Sully Boy Records. Marcs music can be described as a melodic blend of Alt-Country, Americana, and mainstream Country, with honest and gritty in your face lyrics.
Marc lives south of Nashville, Tennessee with his wife and their three year old son.
