Details:
The determination of Class Clown can be measured in miles; around 3,000, to be exact. In the spring of 2007, Class Clown left their Vermont home and headed for Los Angeles, California (3,000 miles away), leaving everything theyâve ever known behind. But that drive for success is exactly what has gotten this powerpop/rock quartette to where they are today.
Since the bandâs formation in 2001, Class Clown has independently booked two national tours, released two full length albums and four EPâs, won a national song writing contest, and played with some of the most renowned acts in the industry. Aside from the success of the band, the members also pride themselves on personal achievements. Drummer Timmy Wright and vocalist/guitarist Jeremy Sicotte both graduated early from high school so that the band could tour full-time.
One of the biggest accomplishments Class Clown prides themselves on is the fact that the band has been together for six years. The past six years have been filled with ups and downs, but through it all Class Clown has been diligent and maintained a positive attitude even when others have doubted them. In 2003, Class Clown teamed up with producer Marc Jordan (L.A.) and have been recording with him since. In 2004, after recording with Jordan, Class Clown won the VH1/School of Rock Battle of the Bands, beating out over 50,000 contestants. Most recently, Class Clown finished with the most plays of any band in the 2006 Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands.
In 2005 Class Clown was invited to play at the Backstage Café in Beverly Hills, CA and Backstage Café owner and legendary talent agent Ian Copeland praised their performance:
"I for one was very impressed indeed. Great show, lads!"
Class Clown has also received words of encouragement from Lobster Records who in 2004 said of Class Clown ââ¦most excellent! All the elements of success are present.â With the support of industry figures and Class Clownâs substantial fan base the band is looking ahead to an illustrious future.
