Paulo Muniz was born in february 27th, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he lived all his life. By the age of twelve he began studying piano and guitar.

In 1991, he started playing electric bass, what led him to be part of several bands, along with singing. After years playing and composing rock, blues, pop, his musical life took another direction: brazilian music. He got interested in bossa nova, samba, MPB (brazilian popular music) and studyed them as much as he could.

But something would delay his musical career: Medical School. He entered the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) to be a doctor but three years later he quit for personal reasons. So, fortunately, he got back in the music field, writing and playing a lot...

There were many performances, either alone (playing brazilian music with an acoustic guitar), or with his main band at the time, Bludogues. (playing the bass and singing) In 1999, he had the oportunity to compose a soundtrack for a theatre play and never stopped once again. He composed lots of jingles and soundtracks for a TV channel (Canal Futura) and producing became one of his main activities. He also studied arranging and orchestration, which helped him to grow up musically.

In 2002 he recorded his first album with his brazilian songs, called "Compositor". It consisted of 26 songs recorded in his homestudio only with guitar and voice. In 2004 he decided to record "Eu comigo", a 12-song album, composed, played and produced by him. The work is currently being remixed and will be available in months.

"Trying to fool destiny" is his latest album, 10 original songs (bossa novas and sambas), and is now available to you.
