Phes was born and raised in New York City. He started making music in 1997 and has been creating since. His first CD was recorded in 2001 with the live hiphop band Illegalize. In 2004 he created DFW productions and released his second CD âDFW Summer EPâ with rhyme partner Tavi (look out for her solo album is coming soon!). This is Phesâ first solo project; âEscape From New Yorkâ has a distinct underground hiphop/sitting on the back of the 2 train NYC sound fused with the influence of jazz, funk, bossa nova, and improvisation. Phes represents the contemporary, urban NYC, underground, hiphop, afro-brazilian corner of the world and hopes to get his message out with this first solo project of many to come.
