It all started a long time ago, when each of us began his own individual journey into a new and unknown world of electronic dance music. Back then all of the electronic dance music was referred to as techno - a pulsating, rhythm dominated tech-sounding style of music. It was mostly played in the nightclubs, rarely making its way into the daylight, and thus building a reputation of being âundergroundâ music. Not many people understood it, but those who did were the pioneers of a soon to happen revolution.

The electronic music revolution first started in Europe, where people embraced this new and exciting wave of dance music. The demand was there, and so the supply started flowing. DJs and producers began to explore the possibilities, experimenting with different styles and constantly pushing the boundaries of what was previously called techno. The electronic dance music started morphing and expanding into separate genres. House, trance and tribal styles became the standars of the club scene.

This is when the electronic dance music finally started making itâs way outside the clubs into the world of tapes, CDâs and the Internet. Remixing became very popular. All of sudden you were able to find those tracks that you always wanted, and play them in your car, give them to friends, blast them during house parties.

By this time progressive and deep styles of dance music were alive and kicking. Electronic music was becoming more and more dynamic, gaining a bigger fan-base with each new hot track. Turntables, mixers, synthesizers and other important ingredients were flying of the shelves, with hundreds and thousands of kids wanting to become the next generation of DJs and producers.

And before you know it, the year is 2006. Today, electronic dance music is an essential part of our lives. Being influenced by such great talents as Sasha and John Digweed at such a legendary venue as Twilo we continue to express ourselves by playing, mixing, producing and listening to the music that we love.
