The Boatbuilders have been performing together for over 4 years in the local Chicago area. With some amount of metamorphosis, the band's original four members have remained intact. It is interesting then, that their debut album captures only the most recent year in the band's existence. There has been a lot of self-discovery (fans who have one of the 3 previous demo recordings will be surprised by the voracity at which this band has eaten into the shell of what we all thought they were). Celery Moonbeams is a culmination of many years of effort, growth, collaboration, and groove coming together with the timeless sounds of rock, blues, jazz, latin, funk, reggae, indie, and folk. All this overlies psychedelic undertones and a progressive edge. One fan insists the band is nothing short of magic... When the energy in the room begins to flow in a circle from band member to band member, the effect is more than the sum of the parts. When the audience begins to share in the groove, the energy is magical, the grooves, transcendent, the music, inspirational, and the experience, unforgettable.
