On Halloween night of 1995, Rod went to sleep hanging upside down in a tree in Salem, Massachusetts. The following morning he recorded his first solo album, The New Dream Reality. Rod was soon touted as the world's premier folk-metal artist by newspapers and radio programs. After breaking his back in a boating accident, he became disenchanted with New England winters and moved to the Southwest in 1999, where he recorded "A Place In The Sun," in 2000. In 2001, Rod married the Goddess of Fire, joined a Hindu cult and started tuning his guitar differently. After years of monotonous vocalizations, he was abducted by CIA operatives and subsequently deprogrammed. His debriefing was recorded and released as his next solo album, Memory in 2003. While living on a farm in Algodones, NM, one night Rod was bitten by a pair of sugar gliders, slipped into a hallucinogenic dream, and conceived his most provocative opus to date, The Raisins of Gunfire, proving that the folk had finally been beaten from the metal.
