Fifty Black People That We Should Know was first written and recorded twenty years ago by Dr. Hatcher as a 19 year old aspiring rap artist growing up in New York City. The original version was a hip-hop melodic style presentation for the generation of the day. Now twenty years laer, Dr. Hatcher re-recorded the classic poem in a spoken word format for all listerners to be entertained and educated.
This classic version of Fifty Black People That We Should Know started out as book reports and oral presentations for his father who was dissatisfied with the lack of African American history in school.
