Details:
Sharon Huckel is a Messianic believer in Yeshua Ha'Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah). Sharon Huckel has worked with international recording artist Paul Wilbur, seminal Messianic band, Israel's Hope, and songwriter Steffi Rubin, author of the worship classic, "Trees of the Field". Cuts from âCourts of Praiseâ are receiving airplay on the South Jersey-based Christian radio station Hope 90.5 FM.
Sharon grew up in Philadelphia where she studied voice at the renowned Settlement Music School and began performing as a soloist at the age of twelve. Later Sharon would turn down a vocalist scholarship to Juliard - choosing instead to focus on raising her children and supporting her husband in ministry. God soon honored Sharon's faithfulness when Chosen People Ministries commissioned her warmly received first recording, "For Zion's Sake".
"Courts of Praise" is a delightful blend of modern worship and praise music with Sharon's classic Jewish flair. The CD also includes a selection of outstanding covers and standards, including an interpretation of the traditional Jewish prayer, "Amidah Avot", Melody Green's Messianic worship favorite, "There is a Redeemer", and a Celtic/folk take on the classic hymn, "Take My Life".
"Courts of Praise" begins with "Out of Zion's" plaintive cry... "From the first we have wandered, far from where we belong"⦠with an acoustic rock backing and jazz-inflected harmonies that build to a majestic chorus. Other stand-out tracks include the lovely ballad, "Remember Me", which draws inspiration from the Bible story of Hannah, mother of Samuel, and the instant Purim classic "Such a Time as This" - complete with dueling Klezmer clarinet and violin.
Sharon Huckel's two previous recordings, "For Zion's Sake" and "Tabernacle" are available through Hananeel Ministries at www.hananeel.com.
