I was asked to come back to my temple to perform for Purim, after singing and playing (violin) my tunes from my first CD; Eklektrex SSQVO - Celebration of Jewish Spirit...traditional Jewish songs put to contemporary and world beats. As I did previously, I based my arrangements on a score I created for string quartet with an optional piano accompaniment and, of course, the vocal lines. Then I orchestrated everything in our home studio. I used unique band orchestrations custom designed for each tune, so, for example,
Wicked, wicked Man is kind of theatrical, like a musical theatre piece; Venahafoch Hu is in a style reminiscent of the early Jewish jazz artists, using saxophones and strings playing in a klezmer style. Utzu Eitzah from the book of Isaiah "...What tomorrow brings we cannot say

Shoshanas Yaakov uses a big percussion ensemble for a party feel.

I enjoyed making the sounds varied and singing the words lifted me up. Playing the violin on these tunes roots me strongly to my ancestors. This journey completes me as I hope it does for you.
