This is for everyone wanting something a different to the usual grind.
The debut album IN THE REALM OF THE SENSELESS was released May 21st 2007.
Sam hooked up with Mithras drummer Leon Macey in 2008 and started work on the followup album THE FLOATING WORLD. They aimed to have it out in 2009 but Sam's relentless perfectionism pushed the album back into 2010, then 2011, and now 2012. The lyrics and vocals alone taking a year to write and practice, and it took two years of rehearsing as a duo to be able to perform the rhythm parts of the album.
Fast? Yes.
The new material is a mix of the most extreme death metal, the happiest mainstream, with a dollop of punch-you-in-the-face punk.
'The Floating World' turns its back on the current flow of extreme metal...the breakdowns, the monotonous sounds, the single-mindedly uncatchy songs, the lack of real passion...and gets a solid-gold collection of thunderous stand-alone songs that draw every genre of metal into a tornado of unique insanity. There's screaming, singing, growling; technical mindfuck passages mixed with catchy simplicity; serious hundred yard stare songs, punk pisstake rants; blasting over 300bpm with laid back grooveouts. It all flows. These are songs like metal doesn't serve you anymore.
The Senseless promise is always the same: this album will have at least two songs you hate. The rest will rock you right the fuck out.
