Hollister, 1947 is an imaginery theme to "The Wild One" of 1953, the first movie about outlaw bikers, starring Marlon Brando riding a Triumph and Lee Marvin on a chopped Harley. The movie was based on the 1947 incident where two drunken outlaw biker gangs fought each other, and took over the town of Hollister, California (One of the two gangs became the Hells Angels M.C. a year later while the other gang inspired The Outlaws M.C. to form in the N.E. US.) The event was famous for about 20 years until a new generation of outlaw biker fims came out, e.g. "The Wild Angels" starring Peter Fonda on a Harley chopper (not "Easy Rider", whcih came out 2 years later). So history inspired art which inspired new history. The sample runs just over a minute; the full version of the song runs about 8 minutes. Trumpet and saxophone played superbly by Ron Matthews. Motorcycle and police sound effects and narration by Mark Sepic, who also sings the part of the Sheriff whom the bikers lock up in his own jail.
