Kendrick âTheGiftâ Stewart was born August 28, 1982 in a small town on the outskirts of Philadelphia. For TheGift, the love of Hip Hop music began at a young age. From grabbing the mic at the PAL dances to rhyming on the back of the school bus, spitting raps was just something he enjoyed doing. Although he had the skills, passion and genuine love for the craft; perusing a rap career was not TheGiftâs main goal in life. I know, listening to his classic style makes that hard to believe.
Fast forward the clock to the present time and TheGift is steady at it. More so in a dedicated fashion, TheGift founded Strickly Bizz Enterprizes, LLC on March 6, 2006. âStrickly Bizzâ is an independent record label which TheGift founded in order to put out his own music. Looking forward to a 2007 release of his debut album, âBirth of a Princeâ, TheGift is currently seeking a distribution deal from several major labels. Until inking a distribution deal or signing a more lucrative recording deal from a major label, TheGift plans to continue to build his fan base in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas using his own label.
Having received a positive response from the release of his first mixtape, âBirth of a Prince â Prequelâ, TheGift is in a great position to capture a larger audience with his classic rhyme style and distinctive sound. Having been inspired by all time greats and legends such as: KRS-ONE, Rakim, Black Thought and Nas; TheGift may just have what it takes to catapult Hip Hop to an even higher level.
