Quirky, catchy, sad'n'jaunty pop songs about love, loss, pigs and sea monsters. Who wouldn't like this??
9 MP3 Songs
POP: Quirky, POP: Delicate
Details:
Bonk Bonk Madi is a the project of Meghan Bahn (erstwhile bassist of "Lackadaisy" and "Merry Go Round") and Chris Wedertz (erstwhile singer of "Lackadaisy" and current member of "Chris Wedertz"). Meghan and Chris co-wrote these bittersweet, cheerily maladjusted songs, sang, and played the instruments (except for drums on 3 songs, played by fabulous guest drummer Rick Walker).
Online 'zine Splendid has this to say:
"You're not gonna believe this, but this week I'm going to try to convince you that you might have room in your collection for yet another lo-fi boy/girl pop group. I've obviously got my work cut out for me, so here we go.
Music like this is pretty tough to pull off, a fact that only makes Bonk Bonk Madi's accomplishment here more impressive.
.....if you find a place in your heart for a few more songs beautifully executed in a style that's quite difficult to pull off, get SeaSick. So to speak."
