The style has elements of old mountain tunes and Country with acoustic instruments but I think the themes and melodies are different enough that I just call it "NEW MOUNTAIN"

The son of a Sawmill man turned Coalminer, Terry Muncy grew up in the hills of Eastern Kentuckyâ¦A microcosm of the world, rich in life experience.
In good times and bad he listened to melodies. It began with pieces of old mountain tunes he heard his mother and father sing and the songs he learned in the one room school where he spent the lower grades. Later on it was Hank, Merle, Johnny and Waylon.
Melodies were Magicâ¦gifts from Heaven filling the air around him. With an old flat top guitar he still spends his time reaching for those tunes.
Sometimes he gets lucky and plucks one from the air and weaves it into a story or a love song.
