The Turnpikes debut release is straight forward Rock And Roll with hint of their rural roots showin' through.
7 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Folk Rock, COUNTRY: Country Rock
Details:
The Turnpikes are a southern style rock band out of Chestertown, Maryland. With the their country, rock, and blues influences, the Turnpikes create a very original sound that also has a very familiar feel to it. From local bars in Chestertown to original clubs and living rooms in Ocean City, Baltimore, Delaware and North Carolina, the Turnpikes continue to draw large crowds while picking up new fans on the way. The band released their first album titled "Older Whiskey, Younger Women, Louder Music" in October of 2006. The seven song album contains three songs that were recorded and mixed by Dustin Broyles in The Turnpikes old home in Chestertown, Maryland. The remaining songs were recorded and mixed in Raleigh, North Carolina by Dick Hodgin and Ian Schreier at Osceola Studios. Dick Hodgin and Ian Shreier have worked with many artists from Hootie and the Blowfish to Velvet Revolver. As always, The Turnpikes would love to thank each and every fan, family member and friend who continues to support them each and every day!

The 70s ain't over yet!
Oh my, this tune is awesome. It also sounds like it's from absolutely ages ago. The vocals are satisfyingly not-right-at-the-front-of-the-mix something that I miss from rock music. Add this to the impressive percussion and guitar work. With an awesomely danceful pace and a great guitar solo, it's difficult to fault anything about this song. That's why I won't.

Stevie Ray Hendrix!!
Hey I can hear where you are coming from brothers!!! I liked the song a lot for sure but wished for more!!
I bet you are a great live band, you clearly are having a good time on this song and all of you worked well together!!
It is tight and loose at the same time which is really difficult to manage ( deliberately or not).
I would definitely check you guys out at a local beer hall on a Frdiay night with sawdust on the floor, pool tables and shots of Jack Daniels between pints of lager!!
Extra Credit: Mood.
