A native of Romania, Valentin Bogdan has started his music studies at the age of four. Through out his career he has studied piano, organ, music theory, composition and conducting focusing on classical music, captivated by this genreâs intellectuality and beauty.
The energy, immediacy and keen attention to stylistic detail which infuse his playing may well owe their existence to his early immersion in the world of chamber music. Since the age of 14, Valentin was selected to be part of the Brasov Institute of Music orchestra which toured extensively throughout Europe and Asia in countries like Netherlands, Great Britain, France and Jordan. In the United States, Valentin was a member of the Jethro Marsh Trio which focused on bringing to life music written for the piano, violin and clarinet. Besides this collaboration, Valentin has also performed in recital with great virtuosi: Risto Nikolic, Boki Cvetkovski and Teddy Abesamis, Valentinâs most notable chamber music appearances are represented by full trio recitals at Hart Hall in East Lansing, Novi FCPC Concert Series in Novi, Michigan a full recital at Schaver Recital Hall in Detroit, Michigan as well as two performances of Faureâs piano trio at the Aria International Festival in London, Canada.
Besides chamber music, Valentin has also a great affinity for performing solo piano repertoire. He has performed numerous solos recitals in both United States as well as Europe undertaking a wide variety of repertoire from Bach to Schonberg.
Even under great pressure, Valentin performs with grace and poise. This is proven by the many positive results that he had at piano competitions. He was the winner of the Wayne State Concerto competition in 2002, which led to a performance of Beethovenâs 5th concerto with the Wayne State Symphony. He received the second place at the Birmingham Musicale the same year. Previously, he won the Livonia Arts Commission Music Competition. He was also the winner of the Berta Salon Piano competition as well as the winner of a honorable mention at the Farmington Musicale.
Valentin is featured in a number of recordings of the Brasov Institute of Music Orchestra as well as a piano solo recording with the works of Bach, Beethoven, Liszt and Scriabin.

Since his move to United States in 1997, Valentin graduated Magna cum Laude from Wayne State University with a undergraduate degree in Piano Performance, and then accepted a full scholarship to continued his studies at Michigan State University from where he received a Masters of Music degree in 2005.
