The Vocal Majority® Chorus, Americaâs Premier Pops Chorus, is an all-volunteer, 100+ voice male a cappella chorus known for its mastery of technically demanding close harmony. Repertoire encompasses music from the classics to jazz, patriotic to sacred, rounded out with standards and Broadway pops. All members of The Vocal Majority® Chorus are non-paid volunteers. A 501 (C)(3) organization, the chorus is self-sustaining through gifts, performance fees, admissions to shows, and sales of recordings and merchandise. The Chorus is also a member of the Texas Commission on the Arts Touring Artist Roster.

The Vocal Majority Chorus was founded in 1972 and has been under the musical direction of Jim Clancy for over 30 years, assisted by his son, Greg, who serves as Associate Director of the group. Under Clancyâs leadership, VM has performed throughout the United States and Canada and has sung for two sitting United States Presidents. They toured to Great Britain in 1995 and returned to Glasgow, Scotland in 2001. The chorus is in demand for concerts, conventions, and special events, having sung with many U.S. orchestras. In 1998 the VM joined with the Atlanta Symphony before 135,000 people in Atlantaâs Olympic Centennial Park. They were featured in a CBS 11 Christmas Eve television special, A Vocal Majority® Christmas, on Christmas Eve 2002.

Members of the chorus work in a myriad number of professions. The Vocal Majority® Chorus holds an unprecedented eleven gold medals in the International Choral Competition of the Barbershop Harmony Society, its professional organization. Their last gold medal was won in Society competition in Indianapolis during the summer of 2006. Its eleven gold medals distinguish The Vocal Majority® Chorus as the most successful musical organization of its kind in the world. While associated with barbershop singing, The Vocal Majority® Chorus sings repertoire that encompasses a wide array of musical styles in addition to barbershop.
