Cold In April is the new album by multi-instrumentalist and singer Mat Walklate, containing sixteen tracks of traditional and original Irish music and songs. Mat plays flute, harmonica, whistle, uilleann pipes and low whistle and he is joined by Matt Fahey on guitar and vocal, Paul Cowham on guitar, Pat O'Reilly on bouzouki, Faul Bradley on guitar, Vinnie Short on bodhran, Ben Walker on bass flute, uilleann pipes and cittern, Steafan Hannigan on percussion, Andy Dinan on fiddle and Tony Trundle on fiddle.
Mat has composed sets of original reels, polkas and jigs for this album that sit comfortably with sets of obscure and familiar traditional tunes.
Of the two songs on the album, P Stands for Paddy is sung by Matt Fahey and Come By The Hills by Mat himself.
