23 year-old unorthodox instrumental guitarist, "trying to make music that doesn't rely on lyrics for its content. Thereâs something more universal about abstract art that allows the audience to see themselves in it, instead of just me. Thatâs a little more interesting."
Although none of the songs are in standard tuning, and many of them employ extended or unusual guitar technique, this is all done in service of composition. Nothing is done for the sake of flashiness or hollow pyrotechnic value; every note is deliberate. To this end, every song is utterly distinctive. Whether soaring, roaring or balancing ominously on a precipice, the disc delightfully showcases a wide range of textures and musical imagery.
