Mixed Emotions is the fourth album released by one of today's most consistent independent rap artists, Young Kev. Mixed Emotions is a mature, easy-listening, and pure Hip-Hop album. It captures the reality of the growth and transformation of the artist Young Kev, from a carefree youth into a responsible adult. During the recording of Mixed Emotions, tragically, Young Kev was critically wounded by a gunshot wound while he was attending a private "good-bye" party. He was set to move to Atlanta, two days after the party, in order to further his music career. However, fate had other plans for Young Kev. Young Kev was treated at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO, where he arrived with no pulse and bleeding profusely. Through the grace of God, the abilities of the trauma doctors at Truman, five new pints of blood, and thirteen minutes of heart resuscitation, Young Kev is still alive today! However, his wound was so severe that his left leg was amputated, above the knee. Young Kev loves making music for the people, because he felt that God has blessed him to speak to the people. Mixed Emotions is a collection of songs that Young Kev was recording, before his tragic accident.
