Junior Johnson, Belfast based Americana/Folk singer/songwriter (though currently living in Andalucia, Spain) is quickly becoming one of the most credible artists in his genre worldwide. Already weary of the world his lyrics are thought-provoking and unforgettable; his voice absorbing and unique.

Junior has shared the stage in the recent past with Shane MacGowan, Sean Cannon (The Dubliners), Frankie Millerâs Full House band, and two of Irelandâs up and coming rock acts, Driving By Night and Red Sirus. Currently playing with a three-piece backing, live gigs are soul filled, unforgettable experiences made possible by the vastly superior, on-fire music. After being set aside of the outstanding competition, Junior has been honoured with the title of L.A. Music Awards Folk Artist of the Year 2006 for his song The Fireside, an honest detailing of the life that a once unfortunate friend leads now. This highly coveted acknowledgment is an achievement that further shows Juniorâs raw talent as a solo artist.

Receiving continual support from regional and international radio stations has seen Junior played on BBC Radio since July 2005, at least thrice a week. The various radio stations where you can hear his music include BBC Radio Ulster (Gerry Anderson Show, Alan Simpson Show, George Jones Show, Ralph McLean Show), Fame Games (worldâs largest webcast) and Q102.

Recently relocated to southern Spain, Junior will be returning regularly for a busy late-spring and summer; with some larger audience gigs planned for the winter in conjunction with the BBC and other similar unsigned Irish acts.

The newly recorded and available to purchase 4-track EP includes guest musicians including Pat McManus on guitar (Mamaâs Boys, Massive Attack) and Liam Bradley on drums (Paul Brady, Van Morrison, Ronan Keating). Recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by Mudd Wallace, probably the most respected studio producer in Ireland. Past clients are too many to list fully but include The Chieftans, Van Morrison, Sinead OâConnor, Therapy? etc. etc.)
