The buzz on these boys from New Jersey is âtheyâre the real thing.â The Just Passing Thru lineup may be one of the best kept secrets in the NY Metro music scene. Start with a drummer who was banging on anything in sight before his parents got wise and gave him a drum set to pound out rock of all forms. Then lock that to an impeccable bass line that was immersed in love for all music from birth. Add a few layers of melodic, intelligent, metal guitar stylings. Finally, top it off with the contagious energy of a passionate, soulful bald frontman with sunglasses that just can't stop singing (every band needs one of these!). Oh, and don't forget to add good measures of both subtle lyrics and intoxicating hooks. Fans enjoy songs with flavors ranging anywhere from alt-rock to metal dipped in pop and sprinkled with funk and rap. Beginning with hosting the Rock On Water Tsunami Relief Benefit Concert in early 2005 (the last live gig by Alfred Batista - former lead singer of the band Crownd) the boys of Just Passing Thru have been thrown into a mysterious series of events that has everyone (including JPT) on the edge anticipating what will happen next. Within just a few weeks, JPT went from the humdrum so common to every local band to banging out tracks with an award-winning producer. Expect a spring release.
