Whether you call it glam, sleaze, trash, punk, hard rock, or hair metal, KICKSTARTER plays it loud, fast, rebellious, aggressive and downright nasty. They combine the sights and sounds of the early 80s glam metal bands like Motley Crue and Hanoi Rocks with late 70s punk bands like the Ramones and Johnny Thunders. The original Kickstarter was based out of Southern California, spearheaded by Chris Ban. KICKSTARTER quickly became a staple on the Hollywood club scene. Orange County Weekly named KICKSTARTER one of the top 10 unsigned bands. They released a 7 inch EP on Pelado Records earning them international acclaim. Shortly afterwards Chris Ban moved to the San Francisco Bay area where he met drummer, Alex Aldrich, guitar player Sean Lavelle and Singer Danny Dee. The new line up released a self-titled album on Excelsior Records in early 2007.
