Kaâhryn

Born to a Jamaican-Panamanian mother and a Jamaican-Chinese father, Kaâhryn began her journey to stardom in Bronx, New York. Ever since the R&B songstress performed as Lauryn Hill in her churches reenactment of Sister Act II, she knew she wanted to become a star. âIt just felt rightâ¦I was only 12, but I had never felt that comfortable before.â Realizing what she wanted to do with her life, it came as no surprise that she followed her dreams immediately following high school. A chance encounter would allow Kaâhryn the opportunity to become a member of the girl group, Bellisima Rose, which seemed very promising. However, after stalled negotiations and a series of different group members, Bellisima Rose, ultimately disbanded, but this did not slow down Kaâhrynâs career.

Grooming for this moment her entire life, Kaâhryn has been no stranger to the spotlight. A classically trained dancer beginning her training at the Harlem School of the Arts, she has been trained in ballet, tap and jazz since the age of three. Since 2003 she has held seven pageant titles including becoming the first African-American Miss Cities of America Teen. âI was so excited when they called my name as the winner. There were over 400 girls competing against me but Iâd worked really hard to prepare. At that point in my life, I was coming out of my girl group situation and I had to pull from everywhere just to compete. Winning just reaffirmed that there is nothing impossible for me.â

With the confidence and the crown as Miss Cities of America Teen, Kaâhryn returned to Atlanta to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. In one year, she has coupled with indie label, First Born Music and Entertainment, under the direction of Big Mali. Today, Kaâhryn is recording her debut album, which will feature not only her vocals skills, but also Kaâhrynâs talent as a songwriter. As a songwriter, Kaâhyrn brings her real life situations and relatable experiences to her writing, and she will write or co-write every song on her debut album. Kaâhryn has worked with artists such as the Bay Areaâs Willie Joe, and Scream Tour alumni, Tango Redd, fusing together Hip-Hop and R&B with catchy mainstream melodies, which will attract a wide demographic. While recording her album, Kaâhryn has performed across metropolitan Atlanta, has sung background for R&B artist, Sammie, and has performed in Montgomery, Alabama. With production from a variety of producers such as Dreamlife Music (Lloyd, Jagged Edge, 112), and engineering by Devine Evans (Mary J. Blige, B5), Kaâhryn is ready to bring her own signature style and flair to the World. Her debut single, HataBlockaz, is set to hit the radio airwaves, retail stores, and the World Wide Web in the Spring, 2007.
