Former Nerve Twins/Soda frontman Charles Jordan is set to release a CD as Knit Delicate. At a recent Pointâs East gig, Jordan previewed some of the tunes solo in a set opening for Testa Rosa and The Exotics. But that was a mere sample of what the full length offers. Recorded in Richmond, Va., at The Sound of Music studios, the album mixes melodic rock with ramshackle pop and is not afraid to add lush and oddball touches.

Jordanâs time with the Nerve Twins and Soda cemented his name in Milwaukeeâs music scene and when Soda called it a day Jordan had more time to tend his Riverwest nightspot The Foundation.

But why Richmond? Well that city happens to be home to a coterie of expatriate Milwaukee musicians from bands like Tweaker, Wobble Test, The Lost Toothbrushes and The Blowpops.

In essence, Jordan took a road trip and circled the wagons to hang out and do some recording with his old pals from the band Maki. Collaborators include Tim Buckley, John Daniels, Miguel Urbiztondo (who co-owns the studio with Crackerâs David Lowery) and Al Weatherhead who also did some nifty production. Weatherhead, who has worked with Sparklehorse, Lucero, Hotel Lights, Cracker, and Clem Snide in recent years, is one of those low-key guys who seems have been born without an ego and blows the listener away with his subtle touches.

Artwork is being handled by multi-taskmaster Damian Strigens, who currently plays with Testa Rosa and previously played with Jordan in the Nerve Twins. Strigens also had some interesting experiences playing with The Frogs.
