Biography
The Foundation
"Hey man, let's jam together some time!", Ron said to Chris, "I hear you rock on the guitar, let's get together!". "Man, I haven't played in a while, but I'll come check out your band some time. Jus Jonezin, right?" replied Chris. A handful of weeks passed and Chris finally got around to checking out Ron's band. "Ok, dude," Chris said, "You rock on the drums! Bring your kit over and let's jam!". After a couple of jam sessions Ron suggested, "You know any bassists here in town that would want to jam with us?". Chris immediately knew who should fill the spot, "Well, I know a guy, his name's Pat Ross. We played together in Iris Anvil from 92' to 97'. Man, we toured all over the country, we even played The House of Blues in California and stayed in Zeppelin's Suite at the Riot Hyatt!!. I'll give him a call. I think he'll be up for it." Pat received the call, "Hey man, I've been playing with this kick ass drummer, and we're writing some original tunes. It's just for fun; it's just about the music. Care to hang out once a week with us?" Pat readily accepted and both he and Chris picked up right where they left off years before. Four years pass and a dozen singers make their way in and out of the group, before Februrary of 2006 arrived.
A New Face
"Hey Jeremy, good to meet you." said Chris, as he pulled up a bar stool in the rehearsal area of his home. "These Wednesday nights have become our poker nights, we're just having fun away from work and our normal lives. Let's here what you've got!" . Jeremy sat down on the stool and said, "This is a song I've been working on lately, I don't really have lyrics, but the music and the melody are pretty solid. I call it 'No Fault'." As Jeremy began to strum the first chord the stool below him began to give way. Jeremy sprang up embarrassed saying, "Wow, as if I weren't nervous enough playing my own song to perfect strangers." They all laughed, one of the band members declared what a great save it was that Jeremy didn't fall completely on his ass. Once the broken stool was replaced Jeremy sang his song. The other members felt compelled and all agreed, "Yeah man, let's do something with this." After a night of drinking and working on the song, they recorded 'No Fault'. From that evening, the 'Wednesday Poker Night", became the band rehearsal and recording night.
Snowball Effect
Their original music, with heavy influences from the 1970's stars, steadily blossomed into a vision of creativity fueled by Jeremy's meaningful lyrics, layered with Chris Ashner's rupture of exploding energetic lead riffs, and the combination Ron and Pat's tight, bluesy rhythm section. Without a band name, they began posting their new music on a crude web page for their friends and family to listen. These new fans, of the unnamed band, began a Thursday morning ritual of downloading the latest sonic creation. Emails began coming in with the same question, "When are you guys playing out?".
At the same time a local promoter gave Chris a ring in hopes of playing a slot in one of his shows.
"We've got a show and we need a name.", said Chris.
The band did everything imaginable to create a name. At one time Pat suggested, "Why not name our band one of our songs.". It wasn't until a day after the gig that the name LEADED was decided on. LEADED was the title of a song Chris and Pat had written a long time ago. He had recently talked about playing it as a group, but both Jeremy and Ron thought, "That's the name of our band!".
Immediately after their set at the Grand Emporium, Chris was accosted by local Kansas City Star journalist, Herne Christopher Jr. "Do you have time for an interview?". The following day Chris was contacted by Jim Kilroy, "Great set! I have a slot for you guys at The Hurricane. Will you do it?".
The Hurricane show went without a hitch. LEADED filled the bar with excited new fans. A jet-lagged Jeremy at one point told the fans,"I'm happy to see you, I hear they charged you money to see us. I'm sorry for that, I'm trying my best to give you every penny's worth. Thanks for being part of this with us."

LEADED continues writing new songs at every rehearsal and playing out when requested. After weeks of deliberating they have decided to go into the studio to create a four song EP. Merchandise such as CD's, T-shirts, stickers and buttons will be on sale through their website once the EP is finished. Currently all of their practice songs are available as free downloads from their site: www.leaded.us. Each song LEADED has recorded has been from their one night creation and rehearsal of that particular song. Although each song has imperfections, they each have the energy and emotions captured from it's conception.
