Details:
Bill Rhoades And The Party Kings have been a fixture on the Northwest Blues scene for over thirty-five years. Originally formed in Eugene, Oregon, the band has been consistently playing blues all this time. Bill Rhoades and drummer Johnny Moore have played together for over twenty years. Bass player Tom Szell joined about five years ago and guitarist Michael Osborn about three years ago. Some of the Northwest's finest blues players have passed through this band at one time or another. The group is now based in Portland, Oregon and continues to play throughout the region.

Bill Rhoades has been playing blues in the Pacific Northwest for close to forty years. Over that period of time, he has had the pleasure to back up artists like
Albert Collins, Jimmy Rogers, Luther Tucker, Sonny Rhoades, Smokey Wilson,Big Daddy Kinsey, J.J.Malone, Louisiana Red, Robert Cray, and many others. He has won the Cascade Blues Association "Muddy" award for Best Harmonica Player five times, and has led the band in winning the honor of representing the Cascade Blues Association at the 2006 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Michael Osborn became interested in the blues early in life while growing up with Robben Ford and the Ford brothers in Ukiah, California. Later on, Michael would have a blues player's dream job, as John Lee Hooker's guitarist
for over thirteen years!. During this time Michael played or shared the stage with Van Morrision, Etta James, Carlos Santana, Charlie Musselwhite, Robert Cray, Ry Cooder, Willie Dixon, Bonnie Raitt, John Hammond, James Cotton and many others. Since joining the Party Kings, Michael has contributed an irreplaceable talent with his guitar work.

Tom Szell grew up in Cleveland, Ohio with the folks who would later form the James Gang. He has played over the years with Ted Nugent, Chaka Khan, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Robert Lockwood Jr. Tom has also played on sessions with the James Gang, Wild Cherry and the Michael Stanley Band. While living in L.A. he played with numerous gospel groups. Tom's love of soul and R&B clearly shows through in his playing.

Johnny Moore is from Tulsa Oklahoma. He went to school to study jazz, but ended up playing with Albert Collins, Smokey Wilson, R.L.Burnside and recording with the late William Clarke. After coming to the Northwest, he played with Curtis Salgado, Paul Delay and has been kicking out an old time shuffle for the Party Kings for over twenty years.

"Bill Rhoades sounds like a combination between Big Walter
Horton & Charlie Musselwhite. I know, I've played with both
of them" - Albert Collins.
