ABOUT "QUEEN OF YOUR DREAMS"

Jeanne Lozier is currently releasing her first original self produced CD entitled "Queen of your Dreams". "Queen of your dreams" is the result of Jeanne Lozier collaborating with Songwriter Gar Francis. The CD includes songs that speak too the different âchangesâ a single woman goes through and sad tales of relationships lost, including a song called "Mama Blues" which is a song that is close to her heart. There is also a lot of humor in this cd. Jeanne Lozier sings songs she can relate too but does not take herself too seriously either.
âQueen â has a mix of blues styles.. There is a little bit of everything and not to sound cliché..but like a good New Orleans Gumbo. There is even a killer violin solo on one of the tracks, âYou canât stay hereâ, from an extraordinary violinist, Gary Oleyar.
Jeanne Lozier delivers strong heartfelt vocals on every track. Jeanne is sultry, angry, sexy and sweetâ¦maybe a little sad and funny but whatever she is singing she is singing with honesty. She is known for her clear powerful voice that hits every note with pure intention. Five of tracks feature Organist Extraordinaire, Melvin Davis. Melvin Davis is a Sony Records recording artist and George Bensonâs go-to guy for many years. Danny Cipriano played all the horns parts on âQueenâ. Dan is one of the most exciting sax players on the scene today and has been Wilson Pickettâs sax player for the last six years. Mark E.Bowers was also a featured artist on âQueenâ. Mark is a shockingly talented guitarist that has played with everyone from Wilson Pickett to Outkast. Other Notables on the cd are James âT â Tillson on Guitar, one of NYCâs Finest guitarists, Glenn Johnson on Drums and Tony storm on Bass and Tim Lautz on piano. There were other special guest appearances on the track âBeg and Pleadâ like Big Nancy Swarbrick from the band âSupreme Courtâ and Bernie Brauswetter from BB & the Stingers and Ed Haddad on B-3 Hammond. They will be heard on future projects for sure.
You will not be disappointed by âQueenâ and all it has to offer.

JEANNE LOZIER BIO

Englewood New Jersey native Jeanne Lozier has been on the NJ/NYC blues scene for the last ten years. She has a Jazz, Blues and R&B influence and has been singing since she was a child. Jeanne did not grow up in a musical household but music was an inherent part of her. The story is when most kids were crying themselves to sleep Jeanne was singing herself to sleep in the baby bed making up songs as she pleased. She has a strong vocal quality that started developing with years of listening and singing to records in her room when she was young. Some of the strong influences are mostly male but not all vocal, Stevie Wonder, Lou Rawls, Charlie Rich, Robert Cray, B.B King, Albert King, Louie Jordon, Big Joe Turner, Buddy Miles, Ray Charles, Dinah Washington, Aretha Franklin, ,Johnny Adams, Johnny Hartman, Al Green, Teddy Pendergrass and any organ player from Jimmy Smith to Charles Earland. Jeanne was performing in the church choir at age six, and was the only freshman in high school selected to sing with the elite Madrigals Choir which she continued to be a part of the next four years along with being in the Select choir serving double duty.
Before taking some time off to attend college, Jeanne sang at R&B shows and town concerts with local bands all through her high school years.
After freelancing with many groups in the tri-state area, including The Tommy Knight Rhythm & Blues Band, and Moose (Greg Allman, Lou Reed) & The Bulletproof Blues Band, Jeanne Lozier burst upon the nightclub and festival stages with an exciting new group of musicians to supplement her classic vocal interpretations and original blues Songs. The Jeanne Lozier Band has opened for Handy Award winner, Ann Rabson (Saffire--The Uppity Blues Women) at the Watchung Arts Center and opened for The Legendary blues man, Sonny Rhodes. Jeanne Lozier has recently teamed up with James "T" Tilson (Moose and the Bullet Proof Blues Band, Sweet Georgia Brown) on Guitar; one of New York City's finest blues guitarists which she intends to have a successful and long partnership, she claims the musical chemistry is there and they make a great song writing team.
She is currently releasing her first original self produced CD entitled "Queen of your Dreams". "Queen of your dreams" is the result of Jeanne Lozier teaming up with Songwriter Gar Francis. The CD includes songs of the "single woman angst and sad tales of relationships lost, including a song called "Mama Blues" which is close to her heart.

Jeanne, who often times has been compared to the singers of old, hopes to capture the hearts of a new breed of listeners with her sultry, yet powerful vocals that have already attracted such notables as Ernest Hayes of Screaming Jay Hawkins fame.
She has had the unique privilege of working with such greats as jazz pianist Ernest Hayes (Screaming Jay Hawkins) and the infamous songwriter Rose Marie McCoy from the songwriting team McCoy/Singleton who wrote hits for Elvis, Tina Turner, Nat King Cole, and Louie Jordan. Jeanne has also performed on stage with, Buzzy Lindhardt, Buddy Miles, Little Sammy Davis, Cornell Dupree and the Junior Wells Band.

Jeanne Lozier is now ready to make her own mark in the world of music, a place she calls home.

REVIEW
"Jeanne Lozier is a fresh voice and one of the hottest blues women on the scene. This new CD needs to come with a warning sticker: "Extreme Danger. May ignite CD player. Use liquid nitrogen spray to cool down your machine after each use." Not even to mention the effect on unsuspecting listeners. And, no--taking a cold shower won't help you either. Jeanne Lozier will tear you up with these fiery, sultry and sexy blues. You better hide this from your wife."

REVIEW
"Queen of Your Dreams-Jeanne Lozier 2005

NJ's local blues diva moves slinky and sure with a blues jones that is killer. She's dark, throaty and sensual with tastes of fire and brimstone that mark nights of pleasure and terror. Roughshod and smoky, Lozier growls and roars with primal power added to a band that oozes Beale Street. Jeanne revels in the yin and yang of love and loss, threat and possesion. She'll be your "sweet sugar mama as long as you rock her sweet and slow." She sure doesn't need no man who carries on night and day. Her rumblings are filled and maximized by the sweet Hammond of Melvin Davis or Ed Haddad and the sax of Dan Cipriano. Gar Francis plays guitar with style and finesse, counterpointing Lozier's richly dangerous pipes while Big Nancy keeps her tin sandwich busy throughout a non-stop, flat out "Beg and Plead." Slowing the pace, "Your Fool No More" sets it straight. It's a tale of no more Miss Nice Girl supporting a no good heartbreaker set to a slow blue groove. "Keeping What i Got" shows the opposite side with joy and happiness to a swinging beat. "Mama Blues" is a soulful burn recounting a family history garnished with burning tears pouring forth from alcohol reddened eyes. The disk boogies on with a violin and sax R&B jam called "You Can't Stay Here" and closes dark and blue in homage to a man too good to be true while "Loving A Woman Like Me." Rolling out of the industrial heart of New Jersey, Jeanne Lozier knows blues and belts 'em out hot and rough. The edges are sharp, the attitude unpolished and the blues are true.

Jeanne Lozier
âQueen of Your Dreamsâ

The New York area is a mecca of unsigned talent, and among our undiscovered gems is Jeanne Lozier. Possessed of a unique voice and powerful determination Jeanne has succeeded where others have struggled. She has self-produced a remarkable first album "Queen of Your Dreams" which thoroughly displays her talent as a vocalist. Jeanne Lozier's voice is powerful enough so that she can growl with the best, but she always sounds like a woman. Her band for this cd includes songwriter/guitarist Gar Francis who wrote or co-wrote all the songs, three with Jeanne. Gar shares the guitar chores with Mark E Bowers and James âTâ Tilson. The band also includes Dan Cipriano who not only plays saxophone but is credited as being the "horn section". Dan is most noted for his work with Wilson Pickett. Tim Lautz and Melvin Davis handle the keyboards while the rhythm section is made of Tony Storm, bass and Glenn Johnson, drums.

The album starts with Gar Francisâs guitar intro, then Jeanne sings, âI am the Queen of Your Dreams, I come to you in your sleep". Other highlights include Dan Cipriano playing multiple saxes, overdubbed and sounding like a full horn section when Jeanne sings âIâm Keeping What I Gotâ. Jeanne Lozier however saves the best for last and closes with the fantastic âLoving a Woman Like Meâ which is the track receiving most airplay. Jeanne Lozier will be appearing with The Dave Gross Band at The New York Blues and Jazz Society next member band showcase to be held Sunday August 13th at The Bitter End 147 Bleecker St Greenwich Village, New York City. Jeanne Lozier is a young talent with an impressive first album. www.jeannelozier.com
