Matthew Stead is a musician and singer from the middle of nowhere, somewhere in the West of England.....

Matthew is also the singer in the The Mighty Stars, Bristol 's finest purveyors of girl fuelled garage beat-punk. The Mighty Stars have had records released in both the UK and US by California based label Avebury Records. The Stars most recent release was a double A-Side that featured 925 which is a 3 minute marxist manifesto in the form of a pop song. In October 2004 Matthew set about recording his debut solo album on an old analogue 8 track machine in his bedroom and garage. Using a variety of instruments that he taught himself to play he then went onto pen and record 16 songs. These songs showed Matthew's new direction and great promise as a folk artist.

These songs were refined and then edited down to the 8 which constitute his first CD releases; CD Single 'Other Than This' and E.P.'Sad Little Sorrow'. These have now completely sold out. Matthewâs debut album 'The City Lost Me Too' soon followed. Tracks from the album can be heard on the MP3 page. The album was released by Homeward Angel Records in a limited edition of 100 numbered copies and sold out quickly.

Matthew has finished work on his second album, titled âStorytimeâ. The album will be released later this year by Homeward Angel Records on CD, Vinyl and Download.
