ModRocket started out in 2004 when drummer Sandra and guitarist Alex started jamming with a toy drum set and a cheap Strat copy. They realized that they should start a band, and found Alice, a 15 year old who had never sung in her life. They all liked the same things: stooges, samples, skills, salad, sonic youth, siouxsie, and sandwiches. They added the 17 year old Alanna Higgins, and she is tearing it up on bass. They all live in downtown New York and try to rehearse everyday in a basement that looks and smells more like a NYC sewer.
