Wonky math rock and conceptual song structures. Fugazi, Minutemen, Yes.
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Math Rock, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
THis is the first proper album of 31Knots. We were still very wet behind the ears with our concept of songwriting, but that also led, sometimes, to more unconventional and interesting ideas being forced together.
The album was recorded with two different drummers, dividing duties almost right down the middle. Mark Walsh, our first drummer, was then replaced by Joe kelley. Joe stayed in the band for about 4 years. The transition between the two was a very pivotol point for us because the addition of joe forced us to become less insular and more aware of modern underground/indie music at the time. That was, for the most part, a blessing.
All things considered, this album still serves as a decent cross-section as to how we began the whole process of ending up where we are now.
