Who is Big Snipes?

Born on November 7th, 1977 in the balmy islands of Bermuda, Wesley A. Hall was destined to become an accomplished musician. His father and mother Merick âObeâ & Jane Hall, have always been instrumentalists and were delighted to nurture a young man who would follow the family tradition. Raised in various parishes throughout Bermuda, Wesley grew fond of the eastern side for its history and tranquillity. Growing up in a West Indian home was an experience for any aspiring young mind, but as years went by, the lessons were beneficial and created priceless memories for the Hall family. Five years after Wesley was born, Dennis became the newest addition to the family and the stories have been endless ever since. Growing up in church only solidified Wesleyâs passion for Christ and by age eleven, he accepted the Lord as his Savior, kneeling at his bedside.

The brothers grew closer as the years passed by. Wesley excelled in English, Design & Technology, and Biology while Dennis fell in love with art, math and later Computer Science. Wesley started playing classical piano from age eight with Mrs. Olivette Morris. She was the âMr. Miyagi of the pianoâ. Her lessons were creative, challenging and innovative and she steered Wesley to Grade Five Practical and Theory examination passes with the Royal Schools of Music. Meanwhile, Wesley also learned the violin. It was at church that he taught himself to play the drums, his original passion, while learning the rudiments of rhythm from other experienced drummers. While attending university, Wesley fell in love with deejaying and started recording mixed tapes for his friends. He played keys and drums for the IGCA and lead the choir to its first ever win in a Battle of the Bands competition as choir director, with his own rendition of âShabachâ. Wesley accepted the challenge of learning the alto saxophone in his final year. He was later awarded the opportunity to play for his MBA graduation ceremony in May 2003 with Webster University. Earlier in the year, Wesley joined the singing group, Praiz and soon after, began to compose instrumental tracks as well as to write songs for the group. Meanwhile, Dennis continued to study hard and fell in love with deejaying in university as well and coined the nickname, DJ Riddy.

At his first job at Lindoâs Market, a co-worker gave Wesley the nickname âSniperâ which was a derivative of actor, Wesley Snipes. To establish an overall appeal and maintain a high level of professionalism, Wesley chose âSnipesâ as his stage name and later âBig Snipesâ was formed. Big Snipes has ministered in local churches, weddings, boat cruises, concerts and many other events through Bermuda and Canada.

In 2003, after the most severe spiritual battle of his life, Big Snipes received the God-given vision to record his debut album. As an avid poet and songwriter, songs flowed freely from this vessel and after prophetic confirmation at Lambâs Way Ministries in Nova Scotia, Canada, Big Snipes returned to Bermuda to begin recording his dream, entitled âThe Next Levelâ. This âlarger-than-lifeâ, 20-song behemoth CD is still just a sample of what God has downloaded into Big Snipes from his love of all music types, personal experiences and an undiluted message of Jesus Christ to everyone in all walks of life. Of course, DJ Riddy has contributed some of the most smashing instrumentals on the project that are sure to satisfy your musical hunger.

Big Snipes believes in humility and excellence in serving God. He promises to grow bigger â bigger in his faith in God, bigger in his love for family and friends, bigger in his ministry.
