No-account no wave blues from San Antonio, Texas; Boxcar Satan deconstructs American roots music and pours a particularly venomous brand of self-loathing noise from the demon bottle.

ROCK: Punk, BLUES: Texas Style
Details:
No-account no-wave blues from San Antonio, Texas.
Boxcar Satan is a three-piece band that deconstructs American roots music and pours a particularly venomous brand of self-loathing noise from the demon bottle.
Depression-era Delta blues, post-industrial field hollers, free improvization and a healthy dose of post-punk skronk are fused together like quadruplets joined at the head.
Guitarist/vocalist Sanford Allen and bassist Patrick Sane are alumni of Texas industrial terrorists the Evil Mothers. Drummer Mike Smith's resume includes work with Thee Tonebenders, Where the Action Is and a string of South Texas punk and garage outfits.
"This sounds like Howlin' Wolf fronting Scratch Acid...A good mind f**k that fans of the Cows and/or Jesus Lizard might like most. Highly recommended." -- Flipside.
"In a musical world where much of what passes for aggro-catharsis is overproduced and safe enough for NOW compilations, San Antonio's Boxcar Satan steamrolls through the vacuum with a pungent blend of Texas punk, chicken scratch blues and free association." -- Austin Chronicle
"A well-balanced mix of frantic, yet solid guitar work, a kick ass rhythm section and a Tom Waits-ish growl... 9 high-hard ones out of 10." -- Salt for Slugs
"Try to imagine the Flying Luttenbachers combining forces with early Butthole Surfers plus a healthy dose of Mississippi Delta blues influence, and you will just barely begin to comprehend the noisy brilliance of Boxcar Satan. Bizarre, obnoxious and great!" -- Jersey Beat
"Boxcar Satan are the sound a dumptruck makes as it unloads all over your convertible - while you're in it - and you laugh hysterically at the cruelty of it all. There's a heavy smell to it; it's gritty and chunky and it really makes you want to shower. Infused with blues, punk and miles of crunchy rock guitar, songs like "Hard Time," "Sterno" and "Snake Oil" will make you pick up that bottle and want to make love to it all night long." -- Ink Blot Magazine
