Its the final episode of your favorite tv show. You can't bring yourself to watch it; that would be to admit its over.
So the vhs tape, with the recorded episode on it, sits in a pile taunting you with its guaranteed fullfillment and inevitable end.
Now hum a happy note. Hum a sad note.
It is this such bittersweetness that singer/songwriter, Cassie MacDonald brings to your ears in her alt-folk songs. She's a Cape Bretoner hailin from New Waterford, Nova Scotia. Cassie's

parents encouraged her to keep up her piano lessons, she found her voice in theatre, and was inspired by her husband to learn guitar. Cassie now plays around the fine city of Toronto in a

sometimes duo with Jason Skiendziel on Upright Bass. She wrote her maiden song in a tiny, tiny apartment building on South Street in Halifax, Nova Scotia--living cheap to save for the big move to

the big city. That song, 'Charming Days', about trying not to miss or romanticize the past holds an ironic place in her current repertoire. She sings it amongst the new songs written in the new city.

And when the old is juxtaposed with the new, one can't help but compare, and reminisce and long--- Cassie never said she followed her own advice.
