There are tributes to Bill Monroe and Kenny Baker, a jazzy version of "Ookpik Waltz," and several fine originals, including the newgrassy "Salt Run" in seven-four time. Thankfully avoiding Protools slickness, these grooves are intimate and alive, and the sound is big and round. The band can and does stretch out, displaying virtuousity as well as humor in the process. With this CD, Danny shows he's as much fun to listen to as he is to play with."
