Piercing eardrums and hearts since 1998, San Francisco's Disbelievers draw favorable comparisons to QOTSA, VU, Sonic Youth, and plenty of other hard rock indie faves. But the style is their own, as evidenced on 2002's Every Day Here is the End of the World. Hull and Jesitus alternate cranking riffs with pensive introspect. Dave Gaziel provides the kicking backbeat. While not a concept album (sorry, that wasn't 'cool' in '02), it still plays best front to back, in it's entirety. Set aside an hour and let Every Day wash over you like an uncomfortably low plane.
