BIO J:LOOP aka J.J. FLUECK

Born in Olten, Switzerland, Joachim J. Flueck began playing drums at the age of thirteen. He switched to the drums from classical flute, driven by his interest in rhythm and contemporary pop & rock music. First school years, during the flueck familyâs four-year-stay in South Carolina USA, gave him a multi-lingual, multi-cultural background and approach to music and life in general.

J.J. started off as an auto-didact, soon leading his first own bands. After high school / grammar school he would study (97-01) and graduate in 2001 with excellence at Musikhochschule Basel / Jazz Department in Switzerland. www.jazz.edu

When it comes to funky drums & fat beats, his name echoes more and more. J.J. Flueck has initialized various projects as a drummer and musical director, being one of the most active pacemakers of Switzerlandâs âBlack music sceneâ.
At the same time J.J. is the founder and head of the booking- and production company SoulVision Productions. Diverse awards and honours confirm him being on the right track.

As a freelancer he plays the drums for Greis (CH), Funky Brotherhood (CH/USA) Bensch (CH), Godessa (SA), Reggie Saunders (USA) to name a few. His performances sum up to approx. hundred gigs a year in Switzerland and Europe.
Highlights incl. Montreux Jazz Festival, Gurtenfestival Bern, Openair Frauenfeld, Afro-Pfingsten Winterthur, Bierhübeli Bern, Sage Club Berlin, Blue Note Club Biel, Moods Zurich.

As an educator, Flueck teaches drums and band/ensemble lessons at a high school. He also appears at clinics and workshops on drumming and band-playing.

BIO DJ WOODO

Switzerland born DJ Woodo's HipHop career started out as a b-boy in the early nineties. Heâs been dancing with several crews in all types of circles and has also been into various competitions as Battle of the Year Switzerland and others.

At some point in the mid-nineties he got his first pair of turntables and since then also got involved in deejaying. In the beginning he was deep into spinning rap tracks, but due to his dancing background got soon into editing his first practice tapes for himself and other b-boys. First, these tapes were full of the then popular big beats, but Woodo soon after, due to inspiration and help by long time friends and Switzerlands heavy funk diggers Ilarius and Pesa and then idol and good friend Break DJ Leacy, got into original breaks. His third official tape âEnter the b-boy breaksâ introduced him to the worldwide dance scene and since its release heâs been delivering the soundscore for some of the largest and most established b-boy events in the world as various national eliminations and several international finals of Battle of the Year or the Mighty 4 Anniversary in San Francisco. His sophomore effort âB-boy breaks of deathâ got him more recognition all over planet HipHop and stands for even more obscure and rare breaks from the world of Funk, Rock and other musical genres always delivered in his very unique b-boy-style. With âBattle tacticsâ, his first release on cd, DJ Woodo came up with a new concept of heavy breaks and some of his favorite b-boys and b-girls from all over the globe, Monty, Storm, Karim, Poe One, Stuntman, AB Girl and Crazy just to mention a few, explaining their own personal battle tactics.

On his latests project DJ Woodo takes it back to the essence of b-boy music, back to the pure rhythm of raw drums. Together with Switzerlands top Funk drummer JJ Flueck aka J:Loop heâs been recording a full length album entitled âTogether forever weâre #1â. The cd once again includes lots of unheard b-boy breaks from various genres sounding even more heavy by adding some funky kicks, snares and hi-hats by J:Loop. A future b-boy classicâ¦
