Change is an important element to No Longer Micah. As their name suggests, this band is best described by the changes within their lives and their music. From it's conception, the band has changed their sound from a low-key, acoustic 3 piece to an experimental 4-piece band which longs to stretch sonic boundaries. Pulling from a variety of influences - this band has woven their sound into something that is unmistakably unique. One writer described it as "a varied, brainy sound that flows in the current neo-new wave surge".

The formation process for No Longer Micah began in fall of 2002. After being in 4 bands over the course of 10 years, Peter, the singer, had not found a style that fit him. He began playing with his friends Shane and Jeremy. They were joined by Karen and Matt who replied to a flyer looking for musicians. Within the year of 2003, the band had recorded two EP's. After many lineup changes, they finally returned to the studio in 2006 with new bassist Jason to record their first full-length.

The band's lyric intelligently deal with the delicate issues facing human life within our society. Addressing the uncomfortable issues is where this band feels at home. Jamie Lee Rake, writer for music website Phantom Tollbooth.com expressed that he "may never have wanted to dance more to songs so serious".
