Rhythm in Shoes is a company of dancers and musicians with a reperetoire rooted in traditional forms of American music and dance from swing tunes & tap to hoedowns & clogging. Directed by choreographer Sharon Leahy and
composer Rick Good, the material is at once original and recognizable. Since 1987, this critically acclaimed body of work has infused the spirit of traditional dance
and music with a thoroughly modern sensibility. RIS has toured in 47 states as well as Canada, Japan and Ireland, pursuing the company's mission: to engage the world in music and dance.

The "intentional Music" CD is a retrospective of the company's first twenty years with a focus on original & experimental works for which Rick Good created much of the music.

A founding member of "The Hotmud Family", Rick spent the seventies and early eighties playing bluegrass and old-time country music. Since the mid-eighties, Rick has been co-directing, composing and performing with Rhythm in
Shoes. His first recording of original songs, "Nova Town", was released in 1997, and expanded into a full length theater piece which premiered at the Victoria Theatre, in Dayton, Ohio, in the year 2000.

When he's not traveling with RIS, Rick moonlights with the Red Clay Ramblers of North Carolina and lives in Spring Valley, Ohio where he continues to write songs and work on new recordings.
