BIOGRAPHY OF SANDRA VALENTIN
Sandra Valentín is a talented young musician born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From an early age, Sandra showed a natural ability for art and music, especially as a singer, guitar player and song writer. Her most intense initial contact with music started taking Classical guitar lessons in the Extension Program of the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico.

During her College years in the United States, she always participated in diverse music events, mainly in the student environment of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Among these events, Sandra performed the opening show for âLarry Harlow and his Twelve Piece Bandâ, and another for âGilberto Santa Rosaâ at UMASS, both in 1994. At this stage of her musical career, she participated in Alternative Rock and Folk bands, Spanish Folk groups, and as a soloist using solely her guitar.

Contralto and owner of a rich voice, with a lot of force and feeling, Sandra sings in Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese. She has taken lessons in Vocal Technique and Electric Guitar in the Department of Music of the University of Puerto Rico.

After finishing in this institution a Bachelor of Science (Major: Environmental Sciences in Toxicology and Chemistry), Sandra returned to Puerto Rico to study at the University of Puerto Rico Law School. Since then, Sandra has exposed her music in many pubs and cafes around the Island.

Sandra practices hand in hand her careers as a lawyer (with special interest in Environmental Law and Entertainment Law) and musician. She is a member of Taller Cé, a coop of song writers, a novel concept in Puerto Rico, which among other things, runs a Café Theatre. Within this concept, Sandra has participated in the recording compilations of âBestiarios II and IIIâ, and in âCafé Teatro Rojoâ.

Currently, she is eagerly promoting her first and long-expected recording named âELEVAMEâ. All the songs in this CD were composed by Sandra. These explore emotions, experiences, and soul relations. This musical production captures her musical influences that have characterized her music career, which are Pop, Folk, and Rock related, among others, creating her fresh and unique style.

Sandra starts the âELEVAME Tourâ this February, in which she will present her original repertoire around the Island, and later in different countries. The specifics of this tour will be announced on this page; so, keep in touch.
