Stencil is an Orchestral Indie Pop band from Seattle, WA and âthe dead lie goldenâ is their debut release. It is an album comprised of twelve songs with lyrics that walk the line between the sincere and the surreal. Inspired by actual events as much as vague hangover dreams, âthe dead lie goldenâ is both personable and a little like that eccentric guy at the bar whose voice you just can't get out of your head. Sonically the album is dense, and features lush string and brass arrangements with a strong emphasis on melody. Stencil is self-releasing âthe dead lie goldenâ and plans on performing frequently around the northwest this year in support of it.
