Although this is Time Three's debut album, they've been playing together for more than six years. This continuity has allowed them to develop a high level of group chemistry and musical interaction. It has also allowed them to cultivate their love for lesser-known jazz compositions and non-standard time signatures. They can be heard regularly around San Francisco at venues such as Cafe Bastille and the Crossroads Cafe.

Pianist Paul Mindrup is the groupâs most recent arrival in San Francisco (some 14 years ago). Born in Dallas, he began classical piano studies at the age of six, but defected to jazz shortly thereafter. He wishfully cites his influences as Herbie Hancock (what jazz pianist doesn't) and Bud Powell, but regrettably sounds nothing like them. Paul can also be heard on the Michael Gold album Personal Standards (Evander Music).

Scott Chapek is an in-demand San Francisco bassist and composer who has performed with a variety of jazz, Latin, rock, and popular ensembles. Originally from Chicago, Scott comes from a family that includes accomplished musicians on both sides. He has performed with many noted Bay Area musicians such as: Mad & Eddie Duran, Dave Ellis, Warren Gale, Ed Kelly, Mel Martin, Kim Nalley, Denise Perrier, Mary Stallings, Hal Stein, Barbara Valladeres, Vince Wallace, and Paula West.

Tom Hassett has been an active member of the Bay Area jazz community for over twenty years. Study with master drummer Jerry Granelli in the '70s left him largely unfit for most commercial work, and so he remains today. In recent years he worked with the Susan Chen Trio at Harris' restaurant from 1988 - 2000, and appears on their CD Harris Nights. He has appeared on three albums by The Lost Trio (Evander Music) and Jenny Ferrisâ Day In Day Out.
