This is the fifth TK Wizard CD! Itâs a jamminâ one with acoustic excursions into space and time. True to the TK Wizard sound, thereâs an abundance of 6 string and 12 string acoustic guitars. Electric guitars were added sparingly when needed to spice up the tracks. In fact, the first electric guitar doesnât show up until the 5th track âJesterâs Rompâ. Here it is used as melody, backing rhythm, and lead. Thereâs a brief electric guitar loop on âSlidinâOn The Slyâ. Some more electric rhythm on âThe 8th Charmâ and âQueen Of Broken Heartsâ which also has a short electric lead. The closing track âGoodbye Grooveâ has an electric guitar lead with no acoustic guitars. Thought it might be an interesting switch. Now, back to the jams. Be sure to check out track 2 âDance Of The Firefliesâ which has one of the best TK Wizard jams ever! On track 7 âSlidinâ On The Slyâ thereâs a jam near the end featuring various percussion instruments such as congas, shakers, and cymbals. The acoustic guitars were also used as percussion instruments â like drums â by tapping on the guitar bodies and muted scraping of the strings.
âStarlight Waltzâ has classical guitars added. On âWicked Pulseâ the acoustic guitars are filtered through effects such as chorus for the weird sounds. Also, there's an effected lead acoustic guitar on "Arping Out" so try not to freak out. âQueen Of Broken Heartsâ is a rumba and features saxophone. And thereâs more sounds to discover on the other tracks â so Iâll let you listen.
